The long awaited Whitewater park Blvd officially opened today with a Ribbon cutting ceremony attended by local residents, business owners, and representatives from Boise & Garden City.
Boise’s Mayor Beiter made a significant announcement proclaiming the section of town from the River towards downtown between State & Main as Boise’s “West End” to mirror it’s neighbors in the North End and East End’s!
Whitewater Park Blvd will provide travelers with a new thoroughfare between Main and State streets along the Boise River, providing access to Boise’s new Water Park, Recreational Ponds, and future home Ester Simplot Park which will tie all of these features together.
As the work on Whitewater Park blvd wraps up, planning the implementation of the 27th Street over haul will begin to take place. 27th Street will be reduced from 4 lanes to 2 lanes while adding bike paths and beautification. These improvements will slow down the traffic on 27th and turn it back into a “neighborhood” street. These and other renewal projects have already shown a significant economic impact to this area and it is expected to gain momentum moving forward.
